Great opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer with an industry leader located just South of Arlington, Texas. As Senior Network Engineer you will ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. You will also analyze and resolve incidents in a timely and accurate fashion.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers and switches.
Manage network security solutions, including firewalls, VPN, and intrusion detection systems.
Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN and VOIP hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Ensure network connectivity of all devices.
Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
Perform network design and capacity planning.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
Develop and maintain all relevant documentation.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Assist with establishing and maintaining service level agreements with the user community
Provide Level 1 Help Desk support.
Produce resolutions or workarounds for all network related problems
Develop and deliver training as required for users
Develop and deliver cross training of selected I.S. Staff Members
Maintain contemporary knowledge of industry trends, concepts, and techniques
Perform asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Perform and participate in security audits.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
REQUIREMENTS
2
years of experience with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within network and data communications services.
Knowledge of Cisco network hardware and software.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Basic ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences (verbally and written).
Data communication certification is preferred.
Associates Degree (or higher) in Network or related field -or- 4
years relevant experience in lieu of Degree preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
